Harris County Judge Ed Emmett will attend the grand opening of the Harris County Youth Evening Reporting Center, a 7,000-square-foot center designed to reduce juvenile incarceration in the area through education and training. The center will provide community-based educational, recreational and skills training to as many as 25 young men at risk of incarceration, thereby helping to reduce juvenile crime and to increase public safety.
Members of the news media will be provided an opportunity to tour the center and hear first-hand about its goals and discover how it will provide a positive impact on the county’s youth.
The center will be operated by Southwest Key Programs, the nation’s fourth-largest
Hispanic nonprofit. Southwest Key Programs is nationally accredited and recognized for its educational programming. The agency operates 55 other programs in six states.
